JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP (2/1/ )
The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship program is designed to address the financial needs of college students and provide comprehensive mentoring services through its 42 Strategies for Success Curriculum. Once chosen from a national, selective application process, “Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars” receive a generous four-year grant (up to $30,000 annually) to attend the college or university of their choice and are enrolled in JRF’s celebrated “mentoring curriculum.” JRF’s four-year curriculum enables students to effectively navigate the college environment, explore career options, develop leadership skills, and embrace a commitment to service. Throughout the four-year program, JRF also promotes the values and character traits embodied in the heroic life of its namesake. The JRF scholarship is awarded to outstanding high school graduates who plan to earn a baccalaureate degree from an accredited, four-year college or university. Additional fellowships are given to JRF Scholars to pursue opportunities to work and study abroad and for post-graduate education. The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 scholarships to extraordinary young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work. Application categories are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box. Davidson Fellows are honored every year in Washington, D.C. with Congressional meetings and a special reception. Davidson Fellows named as one of "The 10 Biggest Scholarships in the World" by TheBestColleges.org and one of "7 Prestigious Undergrad Scholarships" in U.S. News & World Report. To be eligible for consideration as a Davidson Fellow, applicants must:
Davidson Fellows must be available to attend, with one parent or guardian, the awards reception and other recognition events to be held in September in Washington, D.C. (Travel expenses and lodging will be provided by the Institute.) Scholarships are awarded on the basis of significant work. Significant work is an accomplishment that experts in the field recognize as meaningful and has the potential to make a positive contribution to society. Such work may be:
- Be 18 or younger as of Oct. 1, 2019.
- Be a U.S. citizen residing in the United States, or a Permanent Resident of the United States residing in the United States, or be stationed overseas due to active U. S. military duty.
- There is no minimum age for eligibility.

Background Information: Brig. General Noel F. Parrish Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.™ is part of a unique organization
dedicated to the preservation of the history of African American aviators whose service during World War II demonstrated to
America that the criteria for responsible citizenship is character and achievement rather than ethnic origin. The Tuskegee
Airmen were black, white, male and female – but above all they were a highly dedicated, motivated and intelligent group of
individuals, banded together for the liberty and equality of our great nation.
In accordance with the Original Tuskegee Airmen’s standard of excellence, each year the BGNFP Chapter grants scholarship
awards to deserving High-school Seniors entering college. Each year the number of available scholarship awards is directly
related to funds received from contributions into the BGNFP Education Fund. All awards presented, depends on our
contributions pool, each year. Awards are for one year only and may be granted on a continuing basis at the recommendation
of the Educational Scholarship Committee, as approved by the BGNFP Chapter’s Executive Board.
Eligibility Requirements: HS Seniors must be students in good standing at their school in the year that they apply.
Additionally, students must have a GPA of at least (2.75) on a four-point scale. Preference will be given to students who
are actively involved in bettering their community. Applications received after the post marked after March 1st will be
returned to the student and not processed for consideration. Incomplete submissions will be reviewed and ranked to

MILBURN T. MAUPIN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD IN EDUCATION (2/28/20 by 3 pm)
The Jefferson County Association fo School Administrators invites each JCPS high school ro submit ONE SENIOR nominee for the Milburn T. Maupin Scholarship Award of $1000. There will be two awards given. This award has been established by JCASA to be used at the discretion of the student for expenses (tuition, books, supplies, etc.) at any accredited college, university, or post-secondary institution.
Mr. Milburn T. Maupin served as Interim Superintendent of the Louisville Public Schools (the only African American ever selected to head the system) and as Deputy Superintendent of JCPS until his retirement. Mr. Maupin was a scholar and leader who lived his life as an example of true brotherhood. He inspired educators and the community with his high standards of scholarship and excellence.
The MTM Scholarship will be awarded to students who are pursuing a career in the filed of education and who demonstrate scholastic achievement, service to others, and the highest standards of character.

- Letters of Recommendation - one from the school, and one additional letter concentrating on the student’s service to others (may also be from the school).
- Statement containing 150-250 words describing how this scholarship is important to you in pursuing a career in the field of education.
The JCASA Scholarship Committee will give equal consideration to the requirements in making a decision.
