The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program is among the largest undergraduate scholarship programs available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend the nation’s best four-year colleges and universities. This highly competitive scholarship program provides up to $40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school, the ability to pursue any area of study, personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid, and multifaceted advising about how to transition to college and maximize the student experience. Each award is intended to cover a significant share of the student’s educational experience – including tuition, living expenses, books and required fees. Awards vary by individual, based on the cost of tuition as well as other grants or scholarships they may receive. Eligibility requirements include: Planning to graduate from a U.S. high school in spring 2019; Intending to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning in fall 2019; Earning a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above; Having a minimum SAT total of 1200 or ACT composite of 26; Demonstrating unmet financial need. Miami University is excited to announce the creation of the Presidential Fellows Program (PFP). To be considered for this scholarship, students must first apply to Miami University via the Common Application and then apply to either Miami’s University Academic Scholars Program or University Honors Program (or both) by November 1, 2019. - The Early Decision application deadline is November 1 with a December 1 decision notification date.

- The Early Action II application deadline is December 1 with a February 1 decision notification date.
- The Regular Decision application deadline is February 1 with a March 15 decision notification date.

This scholarship is by nomination. Manual may nominate from 1-2 students to be considered for this award. Th John M. Belk Scholarship, Davidson’s flagship merit program, covers the comprehensive costs of attending Davidson (room, board, tuition and fees) – valued in 2018-19 at over $65,000 annually or $260,000 over four years.

HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS (10/25/19)
As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need. There are basically two scholarship programs – one at the state level and one at the national level. Scholarships valued at $6,000-$10,000 are available in every state to high school seniors planning to pursue a bachelor's degree. The national program includes $25,000 scholarships for high school seniors planning to pursue a bachelor's degree program. Additionally, there are targeted scholarships to certain colleges and programs. To be eligible to apply for a Horatio Alger State Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria: Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2019 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation; Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution); Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and; Be a United States citizen. Known for their generosity to Gardner-Webb, Carolyn and Robert Tucker have announced another historic contribution to the University. They are donating a $4 million scholarship endowment to establish the “Tucker Heart, Soul, Mind, and Strength Scholarship.”
Recipients will be designated as Tucker Scholars, and recognized for exceptional academic experience and drive, strong character and leadership potential, and a dedication to Christian faith and service. When fully in place, the fund will provide for four Tucker Scholars, one in each class, every year in perpetuity. The cost of a student’s four-year education at GWU will be covered, including tuition, room and board. UNIVERSITY OF SAN FRANCISCO BLACK SCHOLARS PROGRAM (FALL 2020 - CHECK WITH UNIVERSITY FOR APPLICATION DEADLINE)
- A full-tuition scholarship for students through the Black Scholars Program. The Black Scholars Program is a four-year cohort program for African-American and Black-identified students to explore identity, receive mentorship, reside in a living learning community and take honors curriculum. This scholarship is part of our larger Black Achievement Success and Engagement (BASE) program.
University of dayton leadership in service scholarship (Due to Manual - Oct. 18, 2019)
The value of this scholarship to the University of Dayton is $10,000 and recipients will also be considered for a merit scholarship worth up to $112,000 over four years. While the chosen students need to meet the University of Dayton’s admissions standards, they are looking for students with an innate desire to learn and grow in service to others - not necessarily ones with the highest GPA’s and test scores. The Leadership I Service Scholarship will be included on the recipient’s financial aid award letter which will be available in January. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship opportunity, leave a one page letter of interest and a resume at the Manual Counselors Office for Mr. Fowler. (Due Date to be considered for the nomination is Oct. 18, 2019, at 2:30 pm).
Heisman High School Scholarship (Deadline is Oct. 29, at 3 pm)
The Heisman High School Scholarship continues a 25-year tradition of honoring high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their communities. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all.

The Heisman High School Scholarship program recognizes male and female community-minded scholar-athletes at the state and national level.

Winning a Heisman High School Scholarship requires a weighted GPA of 3.0 or better, participation in at least one school-sponsored sport, and demonstrated leadership at school and in the community.
